Scratched eye

One of my show Hollands scratched his eye, presumably, on a peice of hay during a recent showing. There is an obvious jagged scratch down his iris. He originally had third eyelid issues, which told me it irritated him. I gave him some antibiotic ointment in the eye and he no longer seems annoyed by it, but the scratch is still there (obviously an issue because it could dq him).

Has anyone had something like this occur before? Will it heal up so he could be shown again? I couldn't find anything helpful online so I thought perhaps this had happened to others.

It hasn't happened to any of my rabbits, but I've heard of eye injuries before. Occasionally they will heal and be showable, but eye injuries tend to be pretty permanent. It just depends on what happened. I'd watch it for awhile and see how it does...worst comes to worst, you can still breed him.
