I just got a new doe that is stunning! The old owner informed me that she had once had syphilis but had been treated with Pen G and is now fine. I looked at her and she looks normal. My question is, is it safe to breed her? I do not want my buck or the babies to have it. Help asap please!! I am trying to decide if I really want to keep her or not...:?

It's a tough call. I'd probably go ahead and use her since she's been treated and is showing no signs of the disease.

OK! I was thinking that, I don't want to infect my entire herd but she is really nice looking and a rare color for around here.

It should be fine if she has been treated. In case she shows signs of it later--this is a question for Pam--can a pregnant doe be safely treated with Pen G?
