He wasn't a baby, really. Nor was he old. Just in-between, suspended for a day or two, between life and death before he left us.
Bandit was the best pet I could ask for. He was more than a pet- he was support, he was a friend I could hold in the crook of my arm, he was the only one who understood me when I was sad.
It was stasis that took him. He was crouched in a corner, Sunday morning. He wouldn't eat, he wouldn't move. He just sat.
I panicked, asked on the forums what to do. I was told to give him gas drops, so I did- and he seemed to get the tiniest bit better, but no.
We rushed him to the vet. They gave him treatments and sent us home with our boy. We noticed on the form that we had been given another bottle of meds, but it wasn't there.
Just critical care for bunnies. We went back to get the meds the doc had forgotten to give us, keeping our Bandit close by.
But on the way home he was gone. One moment, and then the next.
He was my first pet- and he might just be my only. But he was the best I could ask for. I love you, Bandit. Rest in peace.
