You should see one up close; they are tremendously huge! (Their heads alone are ginormous.) I believe they can get to 7ft tall - or more - measured to the shoulder. You wouldn't want to run into a wild one during rutting season! :shock:

Oh my goodness...how cute is that!....and yeah i never realized how big they are either.....would love to see one in real life though.

I love this video - and I love moose. I fell in love with them during the four years we lived in Anchorage.

This is one of my favorite photos - I remember when it came out in the Anchorage Daily News - it is of a mama moose taking a break...

There was also once a picture of a policeman holding up traffic so a bull moose (if I remember right it was a bull) could cross the major road.

I was telling Alicia (JadeIcing) last night about how when we lived in Alaska, I would sit up in our bay window windowseat on the 2nd story and open the windows and call out to the moose and go "hey Moosey....I'm home...".

Then one time - a moose started looking at our steps as if he/she was going to try to come up.

I quickly stopped that habit.

I honestly think that moose can be elegant and regal creatures.....I was always thrilled to be out driving and see a moose by the side of the road. I miss that about Anchorage....(I miss a LOT about Anchorage).
