Rabbit Savvy Vets in Wollongong

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has recently been to a good bunny savvy vet in the Wollongong area lately? I went to Wollongong vet hospital on Smith St (I think that's the right street) and I saw Alicia.

She was great, gave us as much time as we needed, didn't rush, and sussed out the problem (it was 7.30 at night!)

Are there other good vets around here? I am a little bit scared of going to Wollongong vet as I have had bad experiences there before with my dogs, and some vets there aren't very nice and treat you like you are cruel for letting your pet get sick. That was a while ago mind you but I don't want to take any chances with Rocky, and I hate being made to feel bad when my pets get sick

Companian Vet at Dapto Matt Young specialises in Bunny Rabbits.I could recommend him till the cows come home. He did surgery on my rabbits, dentistry and right done to the finer details of cutting nails.

Thats great! I am glad there is one close. I need to get Rocky's nails cut he won't let me do it! Also needs his teeth checked so good to know you have seen this vet for that too.

It's often a two person job one hold bun bun on there lap for pats and the other person picks up there paws and cuts each nail onto the next paw and so on.

Or if you own a wriggler try wrapping bun bun up into a towel like a burrito and pop each paw out one at a time.


We only recently moved from Wollongong to Lismore.

I went to see this vet today and I asked him to check rocky's teeth, but he disnt check the back ones, only the front, is that normal?

He was ok he clipped his nails, but he seemed a but weird :S maybe its just me lol
