Rabbit Ears

Sometimes when i pet my rabbit his ears are cooland sometimes they're warm. What does this mean? Usually when his earsare up its cool, and when its down its warm.

They retain heat when held closer to the body(and feel warmer) - they serve as mini "air conditioners" when held up,so feel cooler.
