Hi everyone!
Yesterday my beautiful indoor rabbit was bit by a mosquito.
I squashed the mosquito and it was full of blood.
I've recently had him immunised for calicivirus but in Australia there is no mixamotosis immunisation.
I was wondering how likely it is that he could have caught mixamotosis and if there is anything I can or should do.
Thankyou very much.

Very, very unlikely. If there are not a lot of infected wild rabbits right around your house, dying off at numbers it's imho close to impossible. Although mosquitoes are said to be a potential vector there are many other ways that are more likely, but to start with the disease would need to be close by.
