Pup's Breed

I got Pup for Christmas in 2011. Since he was a "gift" from my boyfriend, I don't know the breed of him...my boyfriend never asked the man who sold him (sigh...guys) and I was wondering if I gave a little description and a picture you guys could help me determine what he is, just for the sake of my curiousity.

Medium, soft, black fur all over; gray paws
Big hind legs
Large ears
Deer shaped head (lol)
Weight: about 5 lbs

Very cute--can't see any markers for a specific breed--probably a mix like most of ours.

did a quick search, looks like an alaska rabbit (not an ARBA recognized breed)
from germany
and around 7-9 lbs
if your bunny is young, then he will grow some more..

he is an adorable rabbit
are you going to neuter him?

edit: also apparently these rabbits are meant for fur

If we could get a good picture of him sitting from the side we might be able to help. The alaska does look similar to yours, but I have never seen one. I still think that he just might be a mutt.

He looks like a mix to me. The breed is difficult to determine because black is a common color in a number of different breeds, and his body type doesn't point to anything in particular. Very cute though!

he's 1 year old....he got neutered in march so he's good
