Couldn't you just see the colleague that listens to you?

and in my opinion most vets (people doctors too)always think they know the right thing ...they don't have the very individual experience with the animal that you do.
I assume you feel that zoe's system will eventually have a problem because of the vet's decision to give greens.

I wouldn't stop seeing this vet totally because Zoe's problem may not be the norm and he doesn't get it. But i would try to take Zoe to the understanding colleague instead. ;)

This is one option, true. Sadly, I'd still be making the long drive. (I realize that 40 min. one-way isn't a lot to some people, but 32 trips therein a year's time changes things a bit, especially since I lose 2.3-3.5 hours total for each vet visit.)

One drawback is that this other vet holds less hours than the regular vet (who owns the place). So if the girls had issues on the colleague's time off, they'd be back to their regular vet.
