Possible ear mites

My bunny has been scratching at his ears and shaking his head, but he doesn't have anything in his ears. Is this ear mites, or is it something esle? Is this something serious?

I do believe early stages of ear mites can be hard to spot, they don't get brown and crusty until they're very well advanced.

More importantly ear infections (and abscesses) are also very hard to spot, even with a stethoscope, so a vet visit is almost always called for in these cases.

Does he seem to be bothered in both ears or just one?

Lol! Yup- it can be pretty hard to spot ear mites with a stethoscope :biggrin2:I recommend an otoscope.
