My bun started pooping less since two days ago. I fed him the usual medication (pineapple juice and some edible vax) for hairball but it didn't change much. He'll eat his pellets or greens but his hay. I put the hay in several other bowls and places,But he won't touch it. For some reason he chews really weird, but when i touch his jaw or face, he doesn't react in pain. I don't have a vet near me at all and I have to wait a few more days to get him a specialist. I tried not giving him anything meanwhile but that made hum more Hungry and more stubborn to eat the hay. What do you recommend i do?

I'd start syringe feeding until you can see a specialist and get his teeth looked at, especially if he is chewing oddly. Hay is the hardest thing to chew so he'd stop chewing that first if he's having dental issues.

Critical care is a good syringe food to use, or in a pinch you can use mushed up nuggets with water.

Try to tempt him with some tasty herbs too like basil, coriander and parsley.

It might be worth weighing him daily too to make sure he's maintaining his weight.

Best of luck! 😊

It's not recommended to syringe feed a rabbit that may be in GI stasis. It can make things worse.

How is the rabbit behaving otherwise? Is he showing signs of gas discomfort? Pressing tummy to floor?

It is a myth that pineapple juice dissolves the hair. The enzyme in pineapple that dissolves hair is destroyed in the low pH of a rabbit's stomach. Also the added sugar in the pineapple can imbalance the gut flora making the situation worse.

What do you mean by "edible vaxx"? What is that?

Have the shape or size of the poos changed?
