Oxbow Hay Some Brown hay in there?

I purchased the oxbow western timothy hay and I noticed that there are some brown pieces in there? Does this mean it is going bad? I have had the bag for about 2 weeks and keep it out of sun. I do not want to give her "bad" hay :confused2: I feel like a helicopter bunny Mom geez lol

i bought a bale of timothy with a few brownish pieces the store said it was fine and our buns haven't had any issues... does it smell good ?

yep smells fine just wanted to make sure I was'nt giving her anything with no nutrition in it. Thank You! Its not dusty or moldy just some brown in it.

Hay has little nutrition so that's not an issue, but being moldy would be. This year's crop of hay might be browner than usual because of drought conditions.

Heat and little rain effect the color but it should be fine
