Hi everyone its been a very long time since i've been online. I've moved house and no longer have internet.
I'll quickly update you all on out latest experience.

Last sunday I had to rush Bangbang to our sister vet clinic (i'm a vet nurse), I was positive she had a blocked bladder. Luckily the vet that specialises in bunnies came in on her day off to see her. And yes her WHOLE bladder was filled with calcium sludge i've never see an xray quite like it. it looked as if someone had injected contrat into her! She had a emergency cystotomy and i'm please to report it went really well. She's making a fine recovery on pain relief and antibiotics and much to her disguist cage rest.

We're trying to sort out her diet and make sure she doesnt have too much calcium. Any advice would be appriciated. I'm in Western Australia for those who don't know so basically no good products come here!

I'm still recovering from what happened i couldnt stop crying i thought i would loose her. She's one tough bunny that's for sure. My bank balance is also recovering! It cost over $800 but man was it worth it. Her bloods showed her kidneys are functioning fineand all other parameters were normal. Just an infection secondary to the calcium.

I realised in the 3 years i've had her i've spent over $2000 on hospital related things, last time it was floppy bunny. So she must have at least 10lives and i hope this is the last scary incident!!!!!!!!! I dont think my nerves can take much more!! Its funny working in an animal hospital i'm always a cool cucumber when it comes to my pets i'm a nervous wreck!

Anyway there's the update i'll pop back in here as soon as i can. Hope everyones bunnies are doing well!

Thanks for the links I was hoping to gather as much info as possible! She's going in for a recheck tomorrow, I have to work so my lovely mother has offered to collect her for a sleep over tonight and she'll take her to see the vet tomorrow ;)my mums so cute she said she's "rather fond of that bunny" :biggrin2:

The vet seems to think the pellets she was on would have been a contributing factor. She is free range in the garden most of the day. Otherwise gets hay, spinich, dark leafed lettuce, bok choy, kangkung, broccolli, herbs - parsley, mint, basil, coriander, marjoram, rosemary, silverbeet, cauliflower (occasionally doesnt always like), carrot, she ate all my beetroots after breaking into my vege garden :( and more if depends on what im growing etc. She eats plants in the garden too

Glad to see you back! Bangbang is such a cute bunny! I'm glad you got her health sorted out quickly. I guess since she is outside all day she wouldn't have an issue with sunlight/vitamin D, but it may be dietary. We're in the midst of a big discussion about how rabbits metabolize calcium and the role of vitamin D; your input would be really helpful!

She's doing too well now! She's become VERY territorial over her crate and i was trying to clean it this morning and the little cow bit me!!!!!!!!!!!
Someones obviously feeling MUCH better :p
