Hi! I'm a very recent addition to this forum and indeed to the world of rabbits in general. Just a few months ago I had no interest what so ever in the floppy eared critters, but my sister in law did.

I work at a pet store and she had displayed an interest in owning a rabbit, so as soon as we had one come in for adoption, I gave her a call. He was a duch mix named Winston and he was pretty cool. But it wasn't untill she decided to start doing rabbit rescue and obtained a gorgeous fawn rex doe that I really fell in love.

Now I'm getting into showing and I have my first two does, pedigreed mini rexes both. I got my first litter on easter evening, and my second almost four weeks ago. My sister and I are going to work towards micro rexes, with a little success so far. A single micro rex doe, now 9 weeks.

I really never thought twice about owning a rabbit six months ago, and now I'm totally hooked. <3

Anna

:welcome1to the forum! Rabbits are like Lays potato chips, once you start you just can't stop! Imy herd started with one who was just supposed to "visit"!

I can't wait to see some pictures of your bunnies and hear about your new life as a bunny slave.

Bunnies are the best addiction anyone could have...

Welcome to the support group :D

:bunnydance:Bunnys rock, don't they?!

Welcome to RO, and a whole forum of people who share your same *addiction*, and will never try to help you *kick your habit*! Looking forward to hearing more about you and your buns. I'm with Ladybug....what's a mirco rex? I'm assuming it's smaller than a mini. Are you trying to breed the smallest ones to come up with a line of really tiny, velvety bunnies?

Thankyou for the kind welcome all! :)
And for those of you wondering, yeah. A mico rex is just a really small rex. Because of the mini/dwarf genes they occationally throw a small kit anyways, (or at least that's my understanding.... ) And we got a micro buck through my sister-in-law's rescue work. She eventually placed him but before she did I got a breeding off of him and got heart-o-mine. This is the whole litter: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m145/crimsonpawwz/bunnies/Digi-Cam706.jpg
And a close up of Heart's face (though she's grown a bit since then)

Heart is on the left, she's about 2/3rds the size of her brothers, Talon's my georgeous blonde boy! he's a jerk, but I love him. Tottally fearless that one! His sister's the polar oppisite. just as calm and sweet as you like.

We're also working with netherland dwarf to bring the size down a little more. The newest litter is about four weeks old now and is half and half mini-rex/netherland. Here they are: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m145/crimsonpawwz/bunnies/photo1.jpg

We got two dwarfs out of the breeding and at least one false, the other might be a false or a mini. It's hard for me to tell at this size. :/ We did get a peanut too... and that was rather sad. :(

Anyways here's most of the rest of the heard:
Wvyrn (mommy to Heart and Talon)http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m145/crimsonpawwz/bunnies/Digi-Cam606.jpg
and Mithral (mommy to the netherlnd crosses)http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m145/crimsonpawwz/bunnies/Digi-Cam628.jpg
I don't have pictures of Perdita or and of my sister-in-law's bucks, saddly. Perdy's a false dwarf duch mix with blue eyes, The Don (sire to the new kits) is a black otter netherland dwarf, and Owen is a black netherland dwarf. Hoping to get some kits out of Owen and Wvy in the near future too~

Thanks again for the welcome everyone. I feel really at home here, and I'm excited to find other enthusiests. :) I hope you all don't mind if I ask a lot of questions, I'm still really new to all this bunny maddness.
