Hi I purchased this beautiful bunny we called Coco on Wednesday, now I was told he was born on Easter Sunday which would make him just over 4 months old, do rabbits grow quickly as I think he’s massive, doesn’t matter to me how big he is but I just wondered if they told me his correct age, Iv weighed him and he’s 8.56kg, does this seem correct for 4 months ? Xxx

Yes, rabbits grow quick and six to seven months is a full grown bunny! Your bunny is fine if their breed gets about that big. Do you know what breed they are?

Thank you, He’s a mixture, his mom And dad aren’t known breeds but his dad Looked like a large lop to me x

Are you sure he weight 8,56 kg and not lbs. That weight should be a giant bunny when adult and your bunny dosen’t look overweight or a giant bunny. Because then it would be a large bunny. Because if you have a giant mix then it will grow a lot larger.

But bunny grow fast specially dwarf rabbits will be fully grown at 6 to 7 months, giant will be around 1,5 year.

In the picture you can see a bunny between 4,5 kg to 5 kg and how the size is with my little brother. She was on the smaller side of her breed and your bunny dosen’t look larger than her 🤣 So maybe try weight him again otherwise he should be double the size.

Yeah, seconded. My french lop boy Storm is now six months old and he's kinda big when relaxed. We expect him to grow to 5.5-6.0kg. That on top of him is a 30cm ruler for reference :)

That weight sound a lot better, I would say he would end up weighing around 2 kg or between 2 to 3 kg if he’s a regular sized bunny.

So he should soon stop growing after 2 to 3 months but will later fill out. In the picture my bunny on the left was 4,5 months old and the other picture is of him now. He didn’t gain a lot of weight after hitting 6 months and stopped his weight at 1,85 kg.
