Hi all! So, after a great deal of begging from the kids (and a lot of money spent on a hand-built rabbit Taj Mahal lol)... we have welcomed Sox and Oreo to our family :)

The kids are in love (Mom is a little bit too :p). We got the bunnies from a local farmer. I have to say I felt bad, there must have been about 20-30 bunnies there. I never thought to ask what kind of rabbits they were, but I'm thinking maybe Rex or Mini-Rex? I'll try to post pics at some point.

Sox is all black, with white front paws. His fur is very short and velvety and doesn't seem to shed.

Oreo's fur is a bit longer and has been shedding. He is all white with black ears, black circles around both eyes, and black coloring across the front of his face that looks like either a mustache or a bow tie... very cute :)

Drawback... the lady we bought them from said they were too young to tell what sex they are. They seem to get along great, even thought they came from separatehutches. I'm a little surprised at myself at the questions we didn't ask, but we'll see how things go!

Looking forward to meeting everyone here!

Welcome to RO.

Hi your bunnies sound adorable.

PICTURES! PICTURES! PICTURES! Can you tell we love pictures on here.

I'd be a little worried that you may have a one of each sex, I assume you don't want Baby bunnies. Is their any way you can check them out or even bring them to a Vet to check what sexes they are. Also be careful if they are both male, once they become mature they may and probably will start to fight. Getting them neutered will help that. But they may not necessarily bond after they are fixed.

Looking forward to hearing all about them and of course seeing pictures.

Hello and welcome to RO. Definitely need to get them sexed, and there is no such thing as too young if they are old enough to come home with you. You can check by spreading the nether region--if what you see looks like a straw, circular, it is a male. If it is more of a triangular shape then you have a female. Also read that rabbits are the only mammal where the males have no nipples. They will need to be neutered regardless or you will have problems.

Let me welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

Many bunny's recommend their slaves to this site so we may learn of others methods to keeping our furry masters happy.

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.

I have listed some links I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How To Bond With Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.

I am glad you have joined rabbits online and I look forward to seeing you around.
