Naming Babies You Plan to Sell

Danny you can name them whatever you want for your website and what you call them, but you can't ever change what's written on the pedigree.

No one I know goes around their barn saying "Oh, look how cute you are today DDRDQ!" or "Oh, Momma B79#1, your babies are developing so nicely!."

You can ask the breeder to alter the pedigree. Like Double Dutch's DDRQ(Jasmine). I see a lot of that. Most breeders wouldn't mind

Only problem with that is that if she has produced kits elsewhere before, there will be a mix-up in understanding.

I have never thought of naming the bunnies before they left. I was just going to ask the new owners what they wanted on the pedigree. I have two kids that would LOVE naming them all, I think I will do that! Thank you for the idea!

I don't name them until about 6-8 weeks old, so I'm pretty comfident on the sex, and if they already have a home lined up, I ask them what they want to name it. If they don't have a home lined up, I ask my boyfriend and friends to name them. I don't want to become too attached lol

My husband and I name all of our babies as soon as we can sex them. I think it's great and most people love it. We have been doing it for years!!
