I did babysitting and the horse thing when I wasyounger. I sat for kids in my neighborhood. Mostpeople liked that I was strict with the kids, so they didn't have anywild children running around when they got home. And in theend, while we might have had some tough days, I always got hugs when Iwent home and tears all around when I went to college. I'mstill in contact with a couple of those families today.
For me, the horse thing was just kinda there. I had a horseand had taken lessons for years. This ridiculously rich guystarted boarding his 3 horses there, but he didn't have time to takecare of them. I noticed that they never got groomed orridden, only put in the pasture, so I just offered. I toldhim how much he could save on board if I cleaned his stalls and howmuch better it would be for the horses to be groomed and ridden, sowhen he did want to ride, they wouldn't be so high strung. Heended up paying me tons more then I thought he would and I really lovedthe work. I also was able to take some lessons from the womanwho had been my instructor when she was overwhelmed. I did itfor 1 year and saved money for college. The next year heasked me to do it again, but I decided that I wanted to devote my timeto my horse because I knew I would have to sell her when I went away tocollege.
