We will be adopting an 8 month old mini-rex and a baby Californian. Should we just have them in two cages near eachother?

Any suggestions for helping them bond?

Hi there, welcome to the forum! :) I'm not sure if you should try to bond them. I think it would be okay as long as they're both female or a neutered male and female but it depends. If they don't get along they might fight. I recommend you get them neutered anyway as they are usually healthier and friendlier pets. There are a lot of bonding tips online and I think in the lagomorph library here? Others will be able to help more!

Agreed with above. It's really hard to tell how rabbits will get along before/after puberty. It's best to wait until hormones aren't a factor in behavior, ie after spaying them, to try bonding. It should be good to keep them next to each other so they get used to each others' smells.
