Dear All
My maxie was having a 45' headtilt and rolling on July-Sept 2013 last year. He was getting better and the tilt is almost unnoticable. He was treated by 4 different vets. And we tried many medications before he got better.
But 3 weeks ago, he completely stop eating. And the upper incisors were overlength.
So on 21st April we took him to our regular vet which is located 6 hours away from us. The vet found overgrown molars inside his mouth. The molars were poked his tongue, but no infection or ulcer detected. But he wasnt eating by his own until the following week. He was on Critical Care, Metacam, Benebac, Reglan and Simethicone to help him eat again.
We found a blood stain in his littertray one morning and he is drinking excessively and pee excessively.
No satisfied with his condition and wondering why he still not eating by his own, i took him to the second vet on 30th April. This vt also.located 6 hours away from us. Dental check showned an odd upper molar on the left side of his teeth. The 2nd vet is not sure if that is the culplrit causing Maxie not eating, and if the molar might grown upwards and causing pressure on his face. This molar was trimmed as short as can. There was a small cut happened during the trimming session so the vet put him on 7 days Baytril. He also given Tramadol shot.
We also did a bloodtest in Maxie and these are the results:
The ears and eyes were a bit yellowish. Vet suspected Maxie might have Liver and Kidney problem. Due to his EC, which we cant confirmed because we dont have tuter test available. And mayb due to prolong medication / too many drugs combination when he was having headtilt last year.
He is now on :
Baytril 7 days
Denzo anti inflamatory 3 days
Meboliv supplement for lifetime
LC Vit Syrup supplement for lifetime
Fenbendazole 21 days
Vetri DMG antioxidant for lifetime.
Vet also adviced us to get subcut saline / Hartmann 2 times a week to keep him hydrated.
