it is an alfalfa based pellet, but is that ok if i am feeding the 1/4 cup of pellets a day. I feed him timothy hay as well.

another food related question, but involving hay. I figured i'd ask as a follow up. Is mixed timothy, alfalfa, kentucky bluegrass, clover mix ok? A local farm is selling it and it is inexpensive and my rabbit goes through a lot of hay.

Yes, that hay should be alright. Generally, you don't want to feed much alfalfa to adult rabbits because it is so high in calcium. But the mix with other grass hays sounds fine, even with a little alfalfa inside.
