I was wondering if anyone else uses laxatone or a cat hairball relief for their bunnies during shedding? My baby loves it and goes nuts when she sees the bottle. Does anyone else use this?

Some vets prescribe it if your rabbit has woodblock. However Dana Krempels is against giving it even for woodblock and she is a rabbit specialist and has a PHD and writes academic papers on rabbits. I wouldn't give it to your rabbit just cause it likes it. The reason your rabbit likes it might be because it has molasses in it. I just looked up the ingredients. ".....Active Ingredient(s): White Petrolatum USP, Light Mineral Oil NF, Corn Syrup, Malt Syrup, Soybean Oil, Cane Molasses, Water. What is this product used for: Laxatone is a lubricant used for the elimination and prevention of hairballs in cats...."

If you want a treat for your rabbit try 1/2 teaspoon of flaxseeds, they are fattening so only give as a small treat. They are loaded with vitamins that are good for rabbits. They are rich in oils that are good for your rabbit and Angora breeders give them to prevent wool block.

Giving hairball remedy to your rabbit is fine.
The exact opposite of why folks think its bad is why its good. Plenty of vets even recommend it.
And why wait for a problem to start when you can try and prevent it?
