Hi guys,

I went to a local pet store and almost bought Einstein lava cubes and salt blocks. However, I second-guessed it and didn't buy them, because I was unsure of their safety. Are they okay for rabbits to chew? Or are these just gimmicks to spend money?

:ponder:

Neither are considered necessary for rabbits. Salt licks are controversial, however the consensus seems to be that they have no benefit but can potentially do harm.
Rabbits with unlimited hay will have their teeth worn down sufficiently from the chewing of hay. They don't really "need' chew blocks for that. In fact, some rabbits will completely ignore chew blocks anyway.
Unfortunately, pet stores sell many items geared toward rabbits that aren't best and can even be harmful. Glad you thought better of it.

However, they do like toys they can chew on. I got a parrot chew toy at the bird store (we also have a bird) that Groucho just loves.
