Hello,

We are in New Brunswick, Canada.

We just got a rabbit. We have wanted one for years, and havebeen reading rabbit-books.After living in apartments which either did not allow pets or were unsuitable for them, we have our own place with a little backyard. We have no other pets. The bunny(Felix) will be thoroughly pampered.

We got him yesterday from a pet shop (we were planning to adopt, but he was really cute and friendly, and we ended up getting him) He is hand-riased, and a Rex-Dwarf cross. I had expected him to be timid, but that is not really the case, he's very inquisitive and seems to like being gently petted.

We got him a big"deluxe" cage that he seems to like and are also letting him roam the living room under close supervision.

Welcome to RO!

Congratulations on your new bunny. Sounds like you have a good set up for him. Are you planning on building a little outside run for him in the backyard? Our bunnies are inside rabbits, but we always get them out in good weather. And they love it! And if you really want to spoil your bunny, you can always plant some wheat grass in the run or have a small garden with lots of bunny treats in it.

Just a word of warning, veggies are good for bunnies, but need to be introduced gradually to them. And not until they are atleast 6 months old. Bunnies digestive systems are very delicate and need to mature.

Look forward to discussing bunnies. They are really an awesome critter to have around.

Hello,

We will definitely be making him a hutch / protected garden area.

Definitely post a pic. Would love to see what you did. I think the combination is an excellent environment for a bunny.
