Hello! I'm a first-time rabbit owner, and I joined this forum because, although I've done research, there are still tons of things I don't know.

I guess first I'll give you some background on my bunny. I got him from a woman on Craigslist who felt like she wasn't giving him the time and attention he needed because she had two young children, and a giant dog. She told me that her husband found him hopping around in her yard around October of last year and he just hopped right up to him for a pat. They kept him in the bathtub until they could get a better arrangement for him, and they noticed there was blood all over the tub so they took him to a vet and he had a urinary tract infection, so she thinks that he was someone's pet (I mean, he had to have been to have run up to someone and let them pick him up, right?) and then he got sick and they tossed him so they wouldn't have to deal with the illness, the poor thing.
And he's such a sweetheart! The day I brought him home he crawled into my lap and laid down. I've had him for a little bit over a week and he's pretty much a buddy already. He never runs away from me, he always runs up and circles me until I sit down on the floor with him and play. He eats out of my hand and runs all over the place and does little binkies. He's even licked me once or twice. He's a total dear. I've never had a pet of any kind warm up to me that fast!

I'm not 100% sure what kind he is. I think he might be a Dutch (that's what I have listed on my profile) but I'm not 100% sure. He weighs about 5.5 LBS, and his fur is... I'd say, maybe, medium length? Or maybe normal. I don't know what normal is for a rabbit. It's maybe a little over a centimeter long, if that helps. Here are a few pictures:

I'm not a Dutch expert, but I'm pretty sure he's not a pure dutch. I've never seen a dutch with 3 colors, but I could be wrong :). He is definately a Dutch mix, though... No mistaking that!

Regardless, he's just beautiful. I demand more pictures!

Thanks for the help identifying him! If I can get him to sit still long enough, I'll post some more pictures of him. Mostly what I have are pictures of the carpet, or his tail, or a blur that somewhat resembles a rabbit if you squint real hard and tilt your head a little :p

I would say harlequin dutch also. He almost looks like he should have been a tort but too much black came up lol. VERY gorgeous and interesting rabbit you have :) Welcome to the forums

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How To Bond With Your Bunny.
