Oy, I'm absolutely appalled at the lack of proper feed available for rabbits. The bag I buy is 20$ for 2,5 kg and it's costing us a fortune. Unfortunately, I have narrowed it down to 2 choices. One is what they are on currently, which they absolutely love. All my bunnies are at the desired weight. The other is the plain pellet which doesn't really appeal to me nor the buns at all. I was hoping to buy a large pouch and maybe mix the two feeds but I would like some opinions please.
So if you had to pick between the following 2 or mixing, which would you pick?:
HAGEN RABBIT PELLET
Ingredients:
Dehydrated alfalfa meal, wheat shorts, chopped wheat, soybean meal, calcium carbonate, lignosulfonate pellet binder, salt, magnesium oxide, DL-metionine, choline chloride, colbalt sulphate, ferrous sulphate, zinc oxide, sodium selenite, vitamin E supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, copper sulphate, manganous oxide, folic acid, niacin, calcium pantothenate, vitamin A supplement, riboflavin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine mononitrate, biotin, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of vitamin K activity), vitamin D3 supplement, mineral oil, propionic acid, sorbic acid, ground corn cobs.

Calcium min 0.9%

Vit. D3 min 1,200 IU/kg
Vit. E min 24 IU/kg
Oh yeah and the bag reads "Ample fresh Hagen Rabbit Pellets should always be readily available to satisfy the dietary demands of the pet." *Sighs*
PRESTIGE CUNI INDOOR NATURE
Ingredients:
Derivatives of vegetable origin, cereals, vegetables (min10%), seeds, yeast, minerals, extr. yucca Schidigera, vitamins.
Contents:
14 % Protein
3.0% Crude fat
15.5% Fibre
6.4% Ash
1% Calcium
0.5% Phospherous.

So anyway, I know that we are not supposed to feed our buns fancy mixes and all that. Just I started it before joining on here and I have been having great results with it and I am always happy with the quality itself. However, my conscience has been telling me to try and find a different feed. I have looked in so many places and tried soooooo many in the past that I narrowed it down to these two. Any thoughts? I'm getting really discouraged here. I wish I could just make my own. :grumpy:
