I've asked this one everywhere, even the vet, andno one has ever been able to answer me :) there seem to be a lot ofknowledgeable bunny people here (I've been reading here for a while);)so I thought I would ask.

I have a bunny who is a silver martin/dwarf mix. Now I have heard thatdwarfs have shorter lifespans than standards, but I have also hear thatthey live longer :D My question is, how long is the average lifespanfor a dwarf mix? At his mature weight he is 4 pounds. Also, we have astandard Rex (7 pounds), her expected lifespan would be 7 from whatI've heard, but if that is incorrect please enlighten me.

here is Romeo, the martin/dwarf mix

here is Fawn, the Rex

Hello and Welcome.

From all that I've read the average lifespan is 7 to 10 yearsdepending on care. I never heard that dwarfs mixes live shorter orlonger lives. I am getting a dwarf lop mix and I would hate to think ofher life being shortened. 10 years isn't long enough for me.

Romeo and Fawn are so cute. I love snow bunny pictures.
