Polish rabbits are, by far, the rabbits with the greatest dispositions and personalities. Ours will sit and cuddle with us for hours, even the ones that hadn't been handled much when we bought them (as seniors, not babies). I take my chocolate buck, Nestle, everywhere with me that I can. He even goes to horse shows with us. They're small (can't be bigger than 3 1/2 pounds), and they don't have that ditzy mentality of the other small breeds (NDs, in particular. lol).

A polish? Really? What you described isn't like what I heard about them....hmmm..I will have to do more research!

I love my bunnies a ton and would do anything for them, but unfortunately I got two bunnies that do not like being picked up, nor petted or cuddled. I have not cuddled either one of them because they will not tolerate it. They are still young (1 year 1 month, and 6 mo), so maybe (hopefully!) they'll grow out of it... I was really wanting a cuddle bug. At least one of them.

My bun's breeds are:

American Dwarf/mix
and unknown mix, nobody could determine her mix :p

I didn't mention Polish before because you didn't list them as an option, but I raise and show Polish and I agree with Wendy that - for the most part - they have a good disposition and they're low maintenance. There are exceptions to every rule, but even the ones who haven't been handled as babies aren't bad...just a bit timid. I'm curious to know what you've read.

Rabbits are like dogs in the way that the behaviour and friendliness ect is not in its breed its the way you socialise them :) I love mini lops though just because they are not too big not too small, their fur is short and they come on a variety of colours :)

I read that they are high strung little rabbits that can't really be held. Much like Nd's. Then again it was off a silly internet site. All the other sites I went to said nothing of the sort. So now its down to havanas, polish and thritanas. Though I am heavily leaning towards polish. They look adorable and besides that one comment, I can't find anything bad about them

From what you describe I think that internet site might have been referring to the British Polish rabbit. In the U.S. they're called Britannia Petites. Brits can definitely be high strung and hard to hold. The American Polish rabbit is much different.

Oh, hm....I didn't know that. Thank you all for your help. Through much research and questions to breeders around my area, I have decided on a breed! And it was one I overlooked. The polish rabbit! Thank you again for all the help! Now I am on the search for reputal breeders ;)
