How to tell if a bunny is deaf?

I think Guinness is deaf. He doesn't respond to noises sometimes. If I come in and he's doing something he doesn't hear me and I usually scare him. Although when I make noise with trash bags or plastic bags he gets kind of scared. I dont know if it's from the noise or the bag itself. How can I know for sure and while this affect him in a bad way?

You can tell by clapping around him, rustling bags, shaking things out of his view to see if he notices. Or if they only seem to respond when you walk into the room it can be deaf as well because they tend to pick up on floor vibrations.
