My rex just gave birth to 2 lastnight and 9 more this morning. 2 of them died.

It was clear that she was not going to care for them, and i don't know why she wouldn't. she basically killed one of them, by constantly stomping on one.

I made them their own bed that has a wool blanket on the bottom with bedding spread all over.

I bought Hartz Kitten Milk Replacr. I read that i must feed them 2ml a day.

I'm iffy about what is said on the internet.

So i'm looking for any advice/tips that will help me keep them alive. If you have successfully raised new born bunnies without the mother... please reply to this post.

I need some info as soon as possible.

BTW, i called the humane society and they said they will only euthanize them and not care for them. I don't want to do that if they do have a chance at living.

I moved this to the rabbitry where you're more likely to get responses from experienced breeders while I search for other relevant information.

I don't have any experience with hand-rearing, but here are some sites we've linked to in the library with some information.

Here's a thread that may be useful as well. There isn't a happy ending, but the suggestions may be useful for you.

Have you tried holding the mother over them so that they can nurse?

I would make the mother feed them, You can hold her down in the nesting box and make her feed then once in the morning and once at night.

Well the mother is really young, and i read that when they aren't matured, their instincts aren't fully developed.
She didn't even prepare a nest like how they usually do.
With that being said, she isn't going to care for them.
She made it quite clear when she killed one.

So weird, i thought they were two boys.

Rabbits only feed twice a day--could you put her in with them to feed and then take her out?

I tried that earlier,
She stomps on them like she's pissed off or something :(

it's clear she does not want them...

Thanks for the reads! I'm printing some out to put in my rabbit folder for future references! thank you so much!

I had a similar problem where the mother refused to feed them. me and my friend wrapped her up in a towel flipped her on her back, exposed her belly while keeping her feet securely in the towel and held the babies up to a nipple one by one until they all feed. We did this twice and then she started feeding them herself :)

Rabbits usually only feed their young when their nipples get too sore from being full of milk so stimulating her by holding the babies up to feed helped to produce more milk.
