I'm thinking of ordering 35lbs of 3rd cut tim hay from Kleenmama's. The hay plus shipping will cost me about $.70/lb. When you work out the cost of 6lbs of Kaytee tim hay it's $2.30/lb

I want to buy the hay but don't know if it will go bad before I can use it all. How long will it last if I keep it in the box it's shipped in and open the bag for ventilation?

It should last for a while. My sister and I buy hay from the feed store, not in a package and it lasts until its gone.

Just don't let it get mildewy or wet. And store in it a dry place.

We have horses so we buy 18 tons (600 bales) at a time. As long as it is kept dry good quality hay will last well over a year. The outside of the bale may start bleach but it's still ok.
