How Big Should A Hole Leading To The Second Level Be?

We've got a cage with two levels and the hole is 24 inches. Is that enough? An Spca woman told us that it should be at least 20 inches and it's over that. Should I make it bigger?

Depends on the size of the bunny. I make mazes out of cardboard boxes and only cut a hole big enough for the head of the larger rabbits. It usually takes them about two days to make passage ways all the way thru and none are more than 7 inches in diameter--our little bunnies can shoot right thru and it doesn't slow down our big girls, 12 and18 pounds.

I mean in an actual hutch. Not a cardboard maze. It's solid wood they can't chew though it.

I think Larry was trying to say that if a 18 lb. bunny can fit through a 7 inch hole, 24 inches is more than sufficient.

Ok thanks. It looks small from the outside but if you actually look at it it's pretty big!
