Hi everyone. I signed up because my fiance and I just found a New Zealand white rabbit on Saturday night. We to find a home for it, but it was really love at first sight and we decided to keep her. Neither of us has ever owned a rabbit, and are a little clueless to certain things. Hopefully I can get a help from other rabbit owners. So far much of the information I've found is conflicting. I post a some questions under the appropriate topics. We've only had Charlie for a few days, but we love her tremendously and only want the best for her.

I've been snooping around, the forum is great! :bunny18 So many questions have been answered without me even asking. :)
I guess my biggest concern for right now is Charlie's age. She appears to be very baby. I'll weigh her today, but she's about 3 lbs, maybe a little less. I'd put her at about 6 weeks, does that sound right?

If you post a picture, we will probably be able to tell her age a little better, and maybe if you or someone is holding her, we can tell size better too.

welcome by the way :) This forum should be very helpful to you.

if she's 3 pounds she's probably a little older than six weeks as some of our bunnies at six weeks were less than a pound and now weigh in at 9. The White New Zealands do put on weight and size pretty quick and they are really sweet bunnies.

I'll try to post a picture when I get her weight. I have one on my phone, but i'm having trouble getting it on my computer.

Pet_Bunny - We were driving at night and she a just on the side of street. It's a pretty busy road, but since she's all white she wasn't hard to spot. I don't think she was out there long, but I have a feeling she was dumped there by someone who didn't want her. I don't really understand how people can abandon animals. We've rescued quite a few abandoned pets and found good homes for them. We were hoping to do the same with Charlie and I even refused to give her a name at first, but she's ours now!

Let me welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

Many bunny's recommend their slaves to this site so we may learn of others methods to keeping our furry masters happy.

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.

I have listed some links I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How To Bond With Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.

I am glad you have joined rabbits online and I look forward to seeing you around.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcomes. Sorry it took a while to get back. Here are a couple pictures:

(please excuse the background mess ;) )

In the first, the ziplock baggie is one of the smaller pint size ones. I don't know if that will help judge his size. I haven't been able to weigh him, I keep forgetting my sacle at work. and in the second we were trying to figure out which veggies he likes. He mostly sticks to the leafy greens, and isn't fond of the bell peppers or zucchinis, and turns his nose up at the rosemary.

Also I'm pretty sure Charlie is actually a he, I've been trying to get a good look but whenever I try my fiance gets a little upset about my pressing Charlie to check. He thinks I'm going to hurt him. :sigh: some men !
