My sister got me a hamster for my birthday!! She is super cute, and very teeny tiny.

I am not sure what to feed her (I have some pet store food) or really do with her. Anyone have good hammie advice or know of a really trust worthy hammie site I can look at?

I want a happy healthy hammie!!!

Is this wheel thing she's running in safe??? I feel like she might fly out???

And what the heck is a dwarf robo hamster??? (That is what it says she is)

YAY!!! Congrats!!! :balloons:

I can't really help you much with the questions, but I'm going to look them up, the answerssound interesting!

The wheel might be safe, what kind is it?

Also we NEED PICS!!!

Congrats on your hammie.

Make sure the food is for hamsters. Hamster and gerbils eat the same food. No hay, you can give them some veggies. I have to find my list so you can read it.

Here is a good hamster site you can go to http://www.hamster-heaven.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl

You need a wheel. Make sure the wheel is solid, no open spaces, it can hurt their feets or even break them. Give them a toilet paper roll as well to chew on, give them a wood chew as well too.

Dwarf is a small breed of hamster. There are so many different kinds. Robo is another kind of breed.

Here is a link on a Robo breed. http://www.hamsterhideout.com/breedsrobo.html

Here is a link to read up on other breeds. http://www.hamsterhideout.com/breeds.html

I have a black bear syrian, they are the largest hamster breed out there. How many hamsters did your sister get you. If you got one, you need to get a buddy for her. Another girl. All dwarfs need a buddy just like guinea pigs.

Thanks guys I'm going to have to do my reasearch. She needs a friend?? That's exciting hehe

Sylvie Thanks, I know I kind of disappeared. The bunnies are very well. Thank you for asking!!

I will try to get pics tonight, ham is sleeping now. But she looks just like the hammie inthat pic

I need a name for her. My boyfriend (Who LOVES her) tentatively named her twinkie because of her coloring. But we are trying to think of something better.

She has a solid wheel. She loves it...i think she can run a million miles an hour.

That's it for now!

Ooooh wonderful, I am glad you got a hammie. I do hope you get her a buddy, it is fun watching them interact with eachother, they tackle eachother and all. I wish I could pair Harley with another but he is a syrian and they can not be bonded.
