In May we adopted a 12 week old male flemish as a companion for our 1 year old mostly american blue bunny (female/s). Since at least the second week we had hm, they have been in dog crates side by side and sharing out of cage space individually (In the morning, male bunny gets let out for a bit...can be anywhere from 30min-4 hours...) and female gets the run of the room from when he gets put back to when he gets let out again (8-12 hours) and then he gets 2-4 hours out before bed time.
Any way. They have been caged side by side since May, and taking turns sharing common space since then. He was neutered the end of August. We are now looking to allow them free time together.
I understand we shouldn't throw them together with out supervision, but how should we go about doing this? We are going to do a decent cleaning of the room and replace the peed on carpet pieces before we do a group out of cage, but is there anything else we should do?
