I know rabbits have to be tattooed in order to be showed, but do you have to tattoo a rabbit before you sell them to a show breeder who wants to show the rabbit, or can the person buying the rabbit from you tattoo the rabbit themselves?

You don't have to, but the person usually likes it if you do so they don't have to do it. They'll be the ones showing the rabbit, so they'll need to be the one making sure the rabbit is ready to be shown with the needed identification mark.

If your selling to a show breeder, they will or can get the rabbit tattooed. But you need to give them a number to put on their ear. So when you give the pedigree, you will have section where you put their ear number, the selection of numbers/letters you picked for the rabbit’s ear.
Hope this makes sense
