Cutting new bunnys nails!?

I just got a new bunny Monday and I assume he is still trying to get used to us. However his nails are grossly long due to some neglect from his previous owners.

My question is when should I clip his nails? Should I let him get used to us more first or just do it so they aren't in his way anymore?!

I would wait a few days and then Maybe do it over a couple of days, do a few on one foot - give him a treat, and then the next day a few on another foot give him a treate etc...
