I'm not sure that papaya does anything for them either but mine love it as a treat. I give them either the dried papaya or papaya tablets. When I give dried, I give them about the size of 1-2 craisins every few days.

Hi Varna!!

Paypaya is good as a treat for most rabbits.

I get the dried kind....no sugar added.
I've never tried the tablets.

It's a very good source of vitamin C and fiber.......but it also has a lot of nautural sugar.

One on my buns, Chippy, gets a couple of small pieces with her meals.
She's got chronic GI issues and the vitamin C is of great benefit for her.

Tootsie gets a very small piece every morning.....mostly because she's just so darned cute.

Most of my buns get a small piece (about the size of a crasin) once a week.

Ok, I have to ask--where were you able to find the kind with no sugar added?? The only dried fruit I have ever been able to find is loaded with sugar. Someone donated a contaner of dried papaya to me and the bunnies, and it had 75 grams of sugar per serving!! Of course, that is a human sized serving, but still...!

There's a lot of natural sugars in it to begin with....the buns don't need extra added for sure.
It's like the crasins with added sugar.

I was first getting it at the farmers market.
They had 3 kinds...
(1) sugar and/or juiceadded (2)no sugar added (3) no sulfur added
...all very pricey.

Then I was getting it from one of my daughter's friends that worked at an exotic bird store.
He was getting it for me for $4/lb.....very good deal.
He quit the job and went away to college.

Lately, I've just been buying the Sun Seed brand at the pet store...."Garden Goodies... Natural Treats"....."Positively Papaya".
They keep it with the small animal stuff...and with the bird stuff, too.
The ingredients simply say "Dehydrated Papaya"...nothing else.
......$3.99 for 5 ounces

:yuckCan you imagine how much that would cost for 33 bunnies to even get a nibble?!
