Bunny with eye problem

My Smokey seems to have a problem with his left eye. He isn't opening it all the way and there is a bump on his head above his eye. I don't see any discharge from the eye and he is eating and pooping normally. I'll be calling the vet, but I also wanted to get some ideas from you guys as to what this might be.

without pictures it's hard to really help. first thing that comes to mind is abscess?

Here are some pictures. I don't know if they will be helpful or not. You can't really see the bump because of his fur color. If it is an abscess, how can that be treated?

P.S.
He doesn't seem to mind me touching the top of his head where the bump is. He let me pet him on the head and didn't flinch or run away.

I just made a vet appointment for tomorrow morning. I hope this isn't something that needs immediate attention.

How does the other eye look? How big is the bump? What does his eye look like if you try and open his eyelids?
