So this is Bayou's first summer and he has been shedding like crazy. I had one of those slicker brushes with the balls on the ends of the bristles, but it wasn't taking off any hair.

I went to the TSC and found this brush. It's amazing and Bayou loves it. It's been a
lifesaver getting all the extra hair off of him.

Does anyone else use a brush like this or have a better recommendation?

The brushes I use are more expensive. Many on the forumlike the Furbuster which I have. ButI found this one, the Fur Fiend De-Shedding Tool which works the best. Get the largest size because it is so much faster to work with. I lent it to a friend and I'm sure I'm not getting it back.

Well I have angoras, so I use a metal comb and a pin brush (the ones for human hair)
