Hi Everyone. A month or so back when I joined the forum, some people directed me here to find out what breed my bunny Pip is. I adopted him, and was told he wasa hotot... i guess they assumed that cause of his eye markings. He's only about 3 pounds and 10 months old though. Besides for the spots you can see on his ears , and the color around his eyes, he is totally white with a little black speck on his back side. The vet suggested he might have some english spot in him, however, those arealso bigger. Any thoughts? Just curious. Thanks!

he's the little man on the left. Pictured here with Winston, my 3.5 pound lionhead. Overall Pip has a much more "delicate"body than much denser Winston.

He looks like a Broken Polish. He is a charlie-marked broken as he does not have a butterfly on his nose or enough color on his body. How much does he weigh?

Others have any thoughts?

He does have more of a Polish face, although my "purebred" (read: what the heck was the breeder doing?) girls also have thinner faces. My avatar is Sprite (RIP), 2.5 lbs, had the dwarf gene and yet had a slender face, and Fey, slightly over 3 lbs, who does not have the dwarf gene has a face shape somewhat similar to Pip.

Dwarf hotots can also get mismarks on their ears and some spots on their body.

Can you get a picture of his side profile? It might help to see how the rest of his body looks and how he holds himself.

Polish is unlikely - the markings don't appear to be black - from the light ring directly around the eyes and the tan ear lacing, it appears to be a chestnut agouti (not a Polish variety). Possibly a Dwarf Hotot, but the agouti markings would be uncommon (although I see them occasionally when Netherland Dwarfs have been crossed in).

There are Hotot marked Lions, so I suspect this is what someone was working on, especially since the "broken" appears to have the more Dutch-like markings that a Dwarf Hotot would have. (They both might very well be from the same breeder). I know a bunch of them were sold from someone out west, but I don't know what state they went to.

Definitely not English Spot nor English Spot mix.

Here are some other pictures, with more views of his side and back. The weird spot in the second picture on his rump is from when the vet shaved part of it to get at an injury. he has one black spot right above that spot.
