Hi everyone.
Our rabbit suddenly developed this bald spot. It’s at the base of her neck on the back left side of her neck. It’s only one bald spot on her. It’s about the size of a quarter or half dollar. Any advice is much appreciated I would like to get her better ASAP. Thank you!22A3F1C9-7FD8-40FE-BEC8-7069F6A4C389.jpegCA6825B9-A561-4834-9062-90093DAE0554.jpegCA6825B9-A561-4834-9062-90093DAE0554.jpeg

Any recent shots given? Is she alone, or is she currently or has she recently been with another rabbit? Any dandruffy skin? I see a pile of fur under her in that first photo. Has she been plucking fur for a nest? Also, part of the exposed skin looks like it's ripped deeper into the skin layer. Is it just the photo and the skin is still intact, or is there a wound there into the skin layer?

Thank you for the replies.
No recent shots given. She has been with our male rabbit for about 3 weeks (no bald spot on him) she just had 5 kits. When I went to transfer her into a diff cage is when I noticed the spot. Very slight dandruff/white flakey skin. She did pluck for the best but i think this is in a spot that she wouldn’t be able to get to. It’s on her back right at the base of the neck. Equivalent to being between a humans scapulas. Skin is still intact. No wound. Pics aren’t the greatest. I’ll try to take some better ones tonight. Thank you again for the help405F32D1-9FF3-42B1-8F15-3F886B416AE2.jpeg

My guess would be it's most likely from your male trying to mount her and ripping the fur out as he does this. That's where they grab hold of the fur with their teeth to mate with the doe. The only way to stop it is to keep your doe and buck separate. I don't know how familiar you are with breeding, but if the male is still in with her, she's most likely already pregnant again. Which means the babies will need to be weaned early at 4 weeks when the new kits arrive. Usually it's best to not keep a breeding pair together for these reasons, as well as if he is posing any risk to the new litter.

If you're certain it's not the buck, other possibilities are a heavy molt spot if she's molting, or possibly mites. Though usually with fur mites there won't just suddenly be a bald patch, but the fur starts to thin more and more as the dandruff worsens.

Ahhh yes. That makes sense. I bet it is from the male. Thank you Thank you so much. Yes we removed her from the cage right after birthing so hopefully she’s not prego again. Thank you again!!
