Does a baby rabbit absolutely need alfalfa hay? I'm rescuing a bunny that desperately needs a home but I already have an older bunny who eats Timothy hay and I was wondering how I was gonna separate the way. So to avoid separating it, I was just wondering if it could have Timothy hay.

The timothy will be just fine, alfalfa based pellets will be plenty calcium for her growth without the alfalfa hay added in. This will make it easier when she is full grown to keep her on "low energy", high fiber types of hay (bunnies tend to get addicted to alfalfa hay and can have a hard time switching, it's like eating candy vs. a salad LOL!).

False alarm. Little bun had to be taken to the ER bc she was lethargic. I wanted to adopt her so bad.
