Hello everyone!

I'm moving to a new house in 3 weeks, so my bunnies and I will not be apartment living anymore! :bunnydance::bunnydance:

My place is suburban and has a backyard with lots of grass but the one thing that has worried me about having my littlefluffies outsideare neighbourhood cats.
Should my rabbits be in a cage in the backyard and only have supervised outings or should they still be inside bunnies?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I would think that as long as their cage was inaccessible to any predators (cats aren't the only threat) and the rabbits are always supervised during outside playtime that it would be fine. Is there a specific reason why they can't be indoor bunnies? If you will still be living in Australia that might be best since rabbits don't do well in extreme heat like they do in the cold.

Here are some threads that I found, they all talk about proper outdoor housing.

And here is one outdoor rabbit hutch that was heavily recommended. I like that it comes with a rabbit run attached.

I have two outside rabbits and many neighbourhood cats. The cats((and possums, and birds)) are actually scared of my rabbits, so they hardly come around anymore.

If they can be inside bunnies, keep them inside. The only reason mine aren't is because they're not fixed yet so they spray. I also already have three inside rabbits so I ran out of room, especially for 12 pound bunnies. But inside is best for rabbits, especially in hotter places.

But if they're outside, simply get them a cage that will keep predators out. Some wire mesh can be torn by animals, either your bunnies or animals wanting to get in, so be careful about that.

And when they go for playtime just watch them or make that predator proof.
