Here's one of my favorites:
1c onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp canola oil
In a large skillet, sauté the onions and garlic in the canola oil until they begin to brown.
3c water
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1/3 c brown sugar or honey
1 tbsp molasses
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp salt
1-2 crushed red peppers or 1-1&1/2 tsp dried red pepper
1/4 c vinegar
Add water, Tom paste, sweeteners, soy sauce, spices, and vinegar to the skillet, and cook for 15 minutes.
4c cooked soybeans (I use 2 cans of whatever beans I want, and rinse them well)
Add beans to the sauce, and cook for 15-20 min to let beans absorb the flavor of the sauce. Serve over rice. Serves 8.
I forgot to ask, but I hope you like beans!
