After doe kindles… I have a few questions

I noticed this evening while checking on the kits that my doe has taken majority of hay out of the nesting box. There’s now a thin layer of hay, her fur covering kits, a nest next to the nesting box and she’s in major heat. Anyone ever run across this before ?

Has she been in contact with another buck?

I would check her stomach, make sure there are no more babies. She may be making a nest to sleep in. Sometimes there are no explanations for what a doe does . Keep and eye on her and the babies, watch for any strange behavior.

It's just that her instincts are somewhat off schedule, a little mixed up. Just see to it that the kits have enough hay and a nice, warm nest, and maybe block the spot where she built the second nest. Especially with first timers it happens that they somewhat mix up when to do what.
