Please don't condemn me but I got a pet store bunny last week and he is pretty healthy from what I can tell. I fell in love with him...the store's not sure how old he is but his tiny bitty nails look like he can't be more than a couple months old. They look like they've jus started growing, never been cut and mere a couple millimeters long, if that.

I got him hopefully to bond with my 2.5 year old Kirby. I hope to neuter him then start bonding him with Kirby as soon as I can so I thought he would need an initial visit before the vet would do the procedure but is it true? If he appears healthy, should I get him checked anyway?

Toby's testicles haven't descended yet but I'm pretty sure I saw them when I was trying to confirm his sex. :)

That's mostly going to depend on the vet and they won't be able to neuter him until his testicles have descended anyway.

Are there pictures of the new little guy?

I would get him check out anyway. You never know what he could have picked up at the breeders to the pet store. If he has anything, he could give it to Kirby.
I believe that a vet would want to do an exam before neutering. You could book the check up close to when he would get neutered.
I don't think he would be able to be neutered until the testicles drop, so you may have to wait until that happens. If they have already dropped, he could be neutered now.

So I would get him checked out, but if he can be neutered soon, wait until then form a checkup. I would not let the new bun meet Kirby for a few weeks so you can see if there are any hidden illnesses.

There sure are! Check out the last few posts on my blog.

I have them in the same room but not sharing the same cage or play pen.

Maybe I should hold off til they've dropped and then schedule? The vet is so expensive :(

When do bunnies usually get ready to be neutered? How many months?
