Boy are they taking advantage of the milk buffet 🥰

One thing I thought I would mention, is if you notice the very full bellies is significantly affecting their mobility, you may need to find a way to slightly reduce feedings. You just don't want them having overly full bellies to affect their leg and mobility development and risk possible splay leg issues. This would really only be the case if they are consistently having extremely overfull bellies and it's causing them to struggle moving around as they get bigger, especially at 10-14 days when their eyes open and they should start walking around and trying to get out of the nest.
I had babies fatter then that. They look fine to me. I would not try to reduce that unless they get SO fat they can't move at all, but I don't see that happening with their size atm. They just look like well fed kits to me.

With six, I don't think you have to do much. Happy fat kits though :), they look fine.,

About handling, after the initial thorough checkout I don't disturb them much as long as they are wigglers, babys need sleep and rest. After a week, when they are popplers I think it starts to pay off to handle them regularily, I take them out and pet them , hold them warm until they relax. in the long run, I would say that genetics still have 60-70% influence onn their adult behaviour.

Anyway, don't overthink it, enjoy :)

She lost 2. Only 4 now.

I do agree with what you said though. They look fine.

Today's weights are a whopping 4.2, 3.2, 3.0, and 3.5. The biggest and the smallest are standouts, the biggest because it is absolutely  huge in comparison to its littermates, the smallest because it is  fast. I had a hard time getting a pic because it was running off the mat!!!

While Bragi still doesn't let me touch her (although she apparently has the right to jungle-gym all over me), she doesnt mind me handling her kits, and is a good mama.

They look really good! I hope you have fun raising these little guys! Even though you did not mean to breed them, I think you will find that raising bunnies is super fun once you get past the dangerous stage. (You are almost past it!)

Your daily baby bunny. Today's weights: 4.8, 3.3, 3.8, 3.2. They're becoming quite the handful, ready to explore outside the nest even though their eyes aren't open yet. Lots of wiggling and running. And peeing, can't forget that. I've been soaked twice now. Fur is coming in nicely, and I can see now that the big one is nearly white, the smallest is going to be mostly red, and the other two are going to be a black tort like Bragi, and possibly a blue tort like Loki. Once their eyes are open, I'll start handling them more!

Daily baby bunny! Today's weights are: 3.9 for our red baby, 5.0 for our gigantic light grey, 3.8 for our blue tort, and 3.4 for our black tort! No eyes open yet, but I managed to avoid getting peed on today, so there's that. I need nickname suggestions for them!!! The black tort, I'm thinking GT, or Demon, because speed freak! The red one is maybe Pike, since that one is an explorer. I found him/her outside the nest this morning. Hit me with your suggestions!!!

Today's weights are 5.2, 4.7, 4.7, and 4.0. The smaller babies are starting to catch up with the big one! Nobody's eyes are open yet, but two are consistently climbing out of the nest box after feeding. I put them back in, and they climb out again. I think those two are definitely my explorers!

How old are they? Eyes are supposed to open at 10 days. Looking good!

Daily baby bunny progress: 4.2, 5.5, 4.5, 5.1. Eyes still haven't opened, so it's possible that they were born on 11/20 rather than 11/19 and their eyes and ears should open tomorrow.

Mama Bragi has completely dispensed with the nest box altogether. She sent the message loud and clear, by dumping the contents of the box, kits included, onto the upper floor of the hutch, and shredding the box. Yup, I got the message!

I was a little worried, as I had weighed the kittens earlier this morning, and they were actually lighter than yesterday. I waited a couple hours, on the chance that they hadn't nursed yet, which turned out to be the case. The current weights are after nursing, and more in line with yesterday's weights.

Hmm. When did you find them? Are they in a place you would have seen or in a place you don't go often? Keep an eye on mom. That seems a little odd that she would destroy her nest.

You wrote the message about the litter on the 19th so they can not be any younger then 10 days. Let me know if any open their eyes by 6.

The upper floor of the hutch, where the nest box was. She removed the box, but put the kits where the box had been. It was just a cardboard box.

Hmm...the date stamp on my post says the 20th. It's 7:49 here now, and nobunny has opened their eyes yet. I'm thinking that since I didn't find them until the morning of the 20th that maybe they were actually born on the 20th rather than the 19th?
