I was forwarded this from a friend yesterday. It just breaks my heart. :(

********************

An animal testing facility in Mountain View , Calif. is closing its doors, putting the lives of 40 beagle puppies in danger. The puppies, which have never undergone any testing, are 16 months old, but without new forever homes will have to be put down October 15. Alza Corp., a Johnson & Johnson company, is closing its doors that day.

Apparently this was a false rumor circulated by the rescue. Those dogs are not up for adoption, the testing facility does not plan on getting rid of them.

The press release says that even though that facility will beclosing down, the dogs will be moved to another facility- not put to sleep.

UGH!!! What horrible timing!!

This is the type of doggy we want in the future, too!! :(

We were planning on renting a house for a year (and improving/fixing our credit during that time), then buying a home, and then adopting a beagel or two. ARGH!!

If only it'd been a year from now...:( Or even a few MONTHS from now, considering that we'll be getting the trio about a couple weeks after our move to the rental house...so we'll be flat-out on animal things until we're used to everyone.

*sigh* I so wish we could adopt one or two....:cry1:

But, as my husband reminds me all the time...I can't save EVERY animal...:(

Well, why the heck NOT?!?! :grumpy:
