My daughter is raising her own Californian Market Rabbits for the first time.

She heard that it was ok for her to start holding or touching the rabbits now.

I wasn't sure since we usually don't get to hold baby bunnies until they are 4 weeks old and ready for us to pick them up to take them to our County Fair Tag in.

Can someone let me know if it's harmful to the bunnies to be held and such and early age?

Thank you

No it's perfectly fine to be handling them at this age, most breeders handle them from the day they are born :)

Thank you for the response.

My daughter will be happy to hear that it's ok.

I moved this thread to the Rabbitry section for you. You will get more responses here.

And, yes it is okay to handle the babies from day 1.I always encourage checking on the babies at least once a day from birth to ensure that all are healthy and being fed.
